Harsh Cleaning Methods (and why they’re harmful)

1. Pressure washing / power washing
• High-pressure water can weaken seams, tear the vinyl, or damage stitching.
2. Abrasive scrubbing
• Using stiff brushes or abrasive pads can scratch, scuff, or wear down the protective UV layer on the vinyl.
3. Harsh chemicals
• Chlorine bleach, ammonia, petroleum-based cleaners, or strong solvents can dry out, discolor, or crack the vinyl.
4. Undiluted household cleaners
• Even mild cleaners (like dish soap or degreasers) can damage if used full strength instead of diluted properly.
5. Acid-based cleaners
• Products like muriatic acid, sometimes used for pool surfaces, will eat through vinyl quickly.
6. Excessive scrubbing at seams/stitching
• This can fray or break threads, leading to leaks or premature seam failure.
7. Using a broom or shovel to remove debris
• Sharp edges can scratch or puncture the vinyl.

Service Frequency: 4 visits per year (once per quarter)

Service Includes:

• Removal of debris and dirt buildup
• Washing and cleaning
• Stain removal (when stains are treatable/removable)
• Rinsing of pool cover
• Applying PoCo Protectant with UV

Billing: Annual prepayment required

Annual Fee: $2,000.00 (covers all 4 quarterly cleanings)
